Where the Southside Meets and Eats.”
What started as a conversation about a possible t-shirt design quickly evolved into a full rebrand project for one of Milwaukee’s longest running and best (and one of my favorite) brunch spots. The new owners of The National Cafe were looking to refresh their branding with a look and feel that was both universally inviting and also grounded in the history of diners. We built on these core principles with a hand-lettered script logo, design elements inspired by the building The National Cafe calls home, a warm palette and a new tagline that is both welcoming and references The National Cafe’s sibling restaurant, The Lafayette Place.

“We hired Jason to recreate a logo for our established restaurant and also our brand new restaurant and what he created exceeded our expectations. He’s kind, funny, intuitive of our visions, and really helped make this process enjoyable.”

— Angela Wierzbinski, Co-Owner of The National Cafe and The Lafayette Place
